Today I went with our Garden Club to the Auckland Botanical Gardens... It was a little 'between' season.. the spring flowers, tulips, cherry tree's, daffs had all finished but the summer flowers had not yet started though a few roses were showing a bit of colour.
This is a new 'frond' on our native Ponga ( Silver fern tree) .. I love how the new growth uncurl and forms the new branches.. This form is called Koro and is a pattern that is used in Maori carvings and also tattoo's..
