Out and about over the last few day's and have noticed that the Pohutukawa Tree's are starting to flower.Metrosideros Excelsa is the botanical name but it is also known as the New Zealand Christmas Tree as it is flowering at Christmas time or just before, they line our coastal beaches of the North Island. They tree in the bottom right in my collage is a very large speciman.. The tui's and bees love to have the nectar from the flowers.
