Flower Pot Bay Jail..

Busy day today so no photo's today ... So here we are back to our Chatham / Pitt Island holiday .. After we had a beautiful lunch at the Flower Pot Lodge we went for a walk to the beach and wharf, and this is what we found .. It is a jail that was used in the 19th centuary for sailors that found themselves in trouble .. At this point it was surrounded with cliffs so had no where to go if they got out .
Jennifer seemed pretty keen to help her husband Neil up into the jail.. two others got in as well but it was standing room only ..

Ha ha she’s pushing himin there....an amazingly basic jail but I suppose that’s all they needed, just a hole in the wall. Pretty cold & dark it is too.
