Today @dide and I went on a bit of a photography walk around a couple of our local beaches in honour of our friend Kim .. ( see yesterday's photo) .. this beach is just out of town and it was the beach that young families went to as it was very safe.. campared to our surf beach near by .. But a few years ago the sea wall eroded badly and alot of the area was fenced off as it was 'unsafe'.. plans were made but the start of the work was very slow.. but this summer it is all complete and it is fantastic with this lovely jetty/pier for the kids to jump off .. steps/ grand stand has been put up where the yacht club is for the spectators to sit and a lovely board walk and seats under the row of Pohutukawa tree's .. It was great to see so many families here today making use of the new facilities..
I am experimenting with a little high key .. I like how it makes the swimmers 'pop'...
@joansmor yes there has been a slide at this beach for years.. use to be wooden .. but kids use to get splinters in their bottoms so it is now steel.. kids love it..
So good that you and @dide took the time to honour Kim. She would have been pleased to know that construction at this beach is now complete.
I do like the touch of high key you have used here. Well done!
I faved this & was commenting but the battery ran out in the middle so I forgot to continue. Love this scene, am thinking you are on the east side as sand is pale?
@happypat this is the very south of the Manukau Harbour.. so sand is golden.. I wondered what happened to your comment as had notification but nothing there... lol..
