I have been waiting for a real 'Blue Sky Day' to get this shot of the mustard fields in a nearby district.. ( we have plenty of BSD's but a case of wrong place wrong time) .. Alsthough today was very cloudy the mustard was just glowing .. like this pov with the roof of the nearby Market Garden packing sheds just showing above the crop .. and the tractor and trailor looking pretty tiny in this landscape...
The Mustard crop is grown as 'green manure' giving the paddock/field a rest for a season and then the crop dug in ready for another crop.. either onions or potatoes...
A beautiful farm scene, it’s interesting that the mustard is not harvested and sold. Of course I know absolutely nothing about harvesting and selling mustard! Smile.
Bet you were watching this crop flowering & hoping you would manage to get a good shot in before the flowers died! I know nothing about mustard crops so it was good to learn all about its use & life as a green manure crop. I do 5 know if they use mustard the same way here, I have never heard of it but in the more horticulture areas it might be a common practice. Fave for me, it’s a lovely sight.
@golftragic Haha I didn't have much choice in my pov as I tried to get closer to the edge of the crop but there was a weedy drain between the road and the crop... I nearly slipped in it .. so then moved back to the road and be a little higher... lucky it worked out for me..
