Cruising on the Ratahi..

I was asked to be the 'On Board' photographer on the new venture that has just started up cruising our harbour.. It was going to be a 4 hour cruise right out to the Harbour Bar and then back down to the start .. It was a fantastic day and great to view our beautiful beaches from a different pov.. Including the light house that you would of seen before on my sight .. We also had a local 'Kumatua' (knowledgeable Maori man) pointing out some of the local landmarks and history .. and the little red boat came all the way with us... We were loaded and unloaded by tender..

That sounds like a great little trip. Was the boat in the harbour? I'm sure that I photographed it when we came for a visit that day.

The boat is usually anchored in the Estuary at the bottom of the street, but it can only go in and out on full tide.. when it going on a longer trip it will start at Te Toro further up the harbour.. and you have to board via a tender ..
