The Monarch... Who's that Good Looker...

Have had lots of Monarch caterpillar's and they been munching their way through my swan plants ..This guy looked pretty with the rain drops on his back and as it was a bit breezy I bought him inside for a quick photo shoot.. He seemed to be taken with his reflection.. He was returned back to his own tree..
oh I love the selective focus and bit of bokeh!

He is gorgeous. He probably continued munching away on your plants once you returned him to the wild.

So beautiful, love those guys. ...and they do eat a ton for their size, getting ready for their transformation takes a lot of energy!

He is so big and fat and sassy looking! Very nice processing with that reflection of him.

What a good way to capture the caterpillar -- with its own reflection! Will you now set up an enclosed space to feed it and photograph the stages of becoming a butterfly?

@julzmaioro I'm thinking about how to create a small safe where I can feed caterpillars but also watch them next summer.

@jyokota be interested to see what you do.. I think wasps get alot of the eggs and newly hatched 'pillars..

Beautiful!

@julzmaioro !!! No wonder I couldn't find the eggs anywhere even after I had many fat caterpillars. I did have many wasps (I even had them exterminated).
