Had a wonder around the Auckland Botanical Gardens today with @dide.. surprised that even though it is the middle of winter just how much colour there was in the gardens.. Though this Monarch did look a little bedraggled, but I think he was very pleased to have some warm sun rather than rain..
I read in the Herald today that Monarchs are going on the endangered list because of fast declining numbers. That surprised me, as I saw loads wintering by the lake in Huntly a couple of weeks ago
