The Korowai..

Today we celebrate our National Day (Waitangi) marking 183 years since the signing of the Treaty between the Maori Chiefs and the European Colonials .. So I feel it appropriate to mark the day with another image of GD Kenna's wedding when she married her young Maori Groom. The bringing together of two cultures. Taumata's family honoured Kenna by welcoming her to the family and gave her a beautiful Korowai (Cloak)..
Also in the photo is the Celebrant who is my neice, so a real family affair.
