I know this doesn't look like a particularly well-taken photo, but it does show what people have commented on my photos -- that I have been experimenting with trying to take photos under difficult lighting situations even though I don't know how to do it well. The opera house was DARK, the stage was BRIGHT and I was far in the back. But I wanted to remember this fabulous orchestra of the Staatsoper, the best opera orchestra I have ever heard. Led by Daniel Brenboim, who used to be in Chicago as the Concertmaster. They had just finished playing Götterdammerüng, the last of the four 5+ hour operas that comprise Wagner's Ring Cycle, and the entire orchestra came up from the orchestra pit and appeared on stage, joining the singers.
Awesome shot, Junko! What an evening, and getting to hear it led by Brenboim must have been a treat! You were successful in using the right lighting too!
What an occasion, to attend an opera whose conductor is world-class and I presume the rest of the orchestra is too. You adjusted whatever you needed to and got the shot! Great job, it's perfectly exposed.
So sorry to be late on your get-pushed challenge this week! I will definitely try to do a motion shot this week, and my challenge to you is to do a photo that captures something of your everyday life.
