@vankrey sitting in classic "seiza" style, contemplating the beautiful scenery in front of him. Enko-ji is famous for autumn colors, so this was our first stop of the day. A quintessentially Japanese feel to this image.
The 20 of us left the youth hostel at 6am to get started on our ONE day in Kyoto, managing to walk 22 miles and take 50,420 steps, climbing elevation the equivalent of 89 floors of stairs. Despite my bursts of jogging to keep up, I managed to get 400+ photos for the day. Our day was so varied I don't know how I will ever choose the other photos for my extra albums . . . temples, gardens, tea ceremony, nighttime light-up, to name a few of our stops.
This is such a good choice for a jam-packed day. It conveys the tranquility at the start that is such a contrast to the rest of the day. What a shame to have had to fly through so much -- I really treasure the fact that we had a few days there!
Taffy just turned me on to your work. I'm really not posting here these days but occasionally drop in to see some wonderful photography. This has such a great mood to it
