Japanese Free Lace Sewing, Day Two by jyokota

Japanese Free Lace Sewing, Day Two

1. Press plastic sheet on top so it forms a sandwich with the sticky plastic on which you had placed your designed ribbons.
2. Pin the front up so you can see it will you design the back so the front and back relate to each other.
3. Repeat all the steps from Day One so back matches the front.
4. Mark a 1/2 inch grid with a t-ruler on entire piece.
5. Select two thread colors that are similar but different enough to create visual depth. (This is actually a very complicated decision -- do you want the grid to disappear against the dress, or become another element in the design, and how much do you want it to show up against the ribbon, etc.)
6. Sew, sew, sew, sew, sew the grid lines.
*Super Friend Jan sews sews sews sews the other half of the grid lines.
An amazing idea. You will be a hit.
