I would like to spend days just visiting and photographing the various subway stations in Moscow when there are few people around. Today, we took a comfortable, efficient, high-speed train (with wifi!) to St Petersburg. I had heard of these overnight coaches as a way to get there, but we arrived in under 4 hours.
You should do a similar shot in St. Petersburg! The subway goes under the river in the center of town, so the escalators are at least as double as long, so you get a longer perspective. However, almost all stations in st.Petersburg have ads and poster boards on the escalators now, so I couldn't find a "clean" one to photograph while I was there.
@tracie8266 -- I agree -- but this was taken kneeling in front of the empty escalator so I pretended not to see the people coming down.
@vera365 -- Our host read your comment and she took us to the subway today to try out some photography there. Hope to post one later! Thanks for the tip. Subway stations in Russia are magnificent !!!!!
