Nighttime Vendor

In the streets below the fortress, night life is pretty active. Here, a woman sells a traditional Georgian sweet -- walnuts on a string, dipped into grape juice that's hardened into a gummy texture.

And Daryl, Georgia is bordered by Turkey, Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
You had me til the 'gummy texture' part! Love the lighting though -- and sounds like an interesting place for walking about.

Interesting idea of a sweet & a very interesting scene. I wonder if they sell many night time sweets?

Ha! Not the Georgia I know ;) oh, I would very much like to taste the walnut treats! And an FYI, I have had several tastings of the green tea you gave Kira! Delicious. Now, she must get to translating the papers. She turned in her application for Youth For Understanding Summer session in Japan. Fingers/Toes crossed!!!!!

Sounds yummy, though my fillings wouldn't like the gummy bit. Love the feeling of this shot it really captures the mood of the night there. Fav.

I have eaten these as a kid! Very intriguing photo - a rare night street shot, and the low light makes it even more so.
