It felt like we were falling down the tower stairs (75 meters!) -- which went on and on and on, as you can see. I only had my 70-200mm lens so I couldn't get a wide view but this was the best I could do to depict the depth. Scary climb down. Hard to feel steady. It was very dark in the stairwell, and there were periodic window openings in the wall that flooded light in. Then our eyes had to readjust to the dark as we left all that light.
Taffy had a wider lens (we had to leave our bags in the locker so we had only the lens on our camera at the time): http://365project.org/taffy/365/2015-12-16
I was just telling Taffy that I am in awe of your ability to travel so much. I think I would be so exhausted. But I'm very excited for the summer and France! Getting Aidan new luggage! And Kira (if she gets into the Japanese program with a scholarship--she'll have an interview in January--fingers crossed!)
And I love the spiral effect. The DOF plays a trick on the eye and I love that the focus is just in the top third plane and that the descending spirals start to go out of focus!
Yikes, wonderful pov Junko. Better you than me on those stairs, my metal knees and hip don't like stairs at all. Love the disappearing spiral effect you've achieved.
Wow love this Junko! Love how it's different to Taffy's image. What a great few days you have had! I don't think I could have kept up with you both! Safe journey home!
This is fantastic! I love how you've gotten that wormhole feel -- that 'down the rabbit hole' look to the staircase (scary staircase!). What a trip -- now for a full day of processing while flying!!
Fascinating because Taffy's picture almost looks like everything is on one level which of course it isn't thus giving it the sea shell look. And your draws me down into an endless tunnel. Same shot different results.
