I love this. Such an interesting building and beautifully photographed. You seem to take a lot of buildings...a hard subject in many ways but great to see the lovely spaces. Sorry to read about your accident but glad you and your camera are safe and will reunite. Fav

thank you all for your comments. This is in the center courtyard like area of a big building and one we walked through from city center to our hotel every day at least twice, every year. There are many people walking through here usually and it just feels cluttered typically. But on a Sunday morning, I was able to capture at its best. @will_wooderson -- This photo was taken in Bologna, Italy. @helenhall -- you're right that I have taken a lot of building photos lately and it's one of my challenges. How can I take a photo of a building in a way that is for interesting then simply snapping what meets the eye? I have no answer but I keep trying. I like architecture very much and am fascinated by the many ways that people build their buildings around the world. Perhaps another reason is that I'm very shy about street photography. Thanks to you and to @darylo for your empathy. The good news is that I had my second appointment with the orthopedic doctor and it's not likely that I will surgery. It also means that I will be in this plaster of Paris cast from fingertips to shoulders a while longer. And @helenhall -- I just got an email this morning that I will go to Korea at the end of May and I will be reunited with my camera and lenses! Meanwhile, I'm getting good practice with my dictation software.
I was going to comment on this gorgeous setting, reading above that it's in Bologna, home of neighbor/friends in Lunenburg. Further, I'm getting a grasp of the extent of your injury that Taffy first said was a broken wrist... I didn't imagine this! My heart goes out to you as being incapacitated is no fun at all! Trooper that you are, I see you'll be up and out again in about six weeks! You're pretty amazing See you soon!
Heavens to betsy Junko, your injury must be much worse than I imagined. Just follow doctor's orders and get better soon. I'm very much enjoying your architectural shots and seeing places I'll never get to myself. I like this shot a lot as it is, but have you tried a second version cropping to just above the pink umbrellas? As I see it, the wavy pavement is the hero in this shot.
@golftragic yes, it was a bad break and I'm in a cast from fingertips to shoulder. I like your idea of a second version and will give it a try. Stay tuned!
