The Maori word for these unfurling ferns are Koru.. means new life.. you can see them on alot of Maori carving and tatoo's ... always beautiful to photograph..
I've seen a number of pics of koru, but this is an excellent example. The way you've framed the shot with the tight dof work very well, and I particularly like the light on the little hairs.
@julzmaioro -- oh, I see. So instead of calling it "Koru Fern" I would just call it "Koru" as an act, or do I conjugate it and call it "Fern Koru-ing"?
As quoted fro,m Wikipidia .... Koru.. maori for 'loop' is spiral shape based on the shape of a new unferling silver fern frond and symbolizing new life, growth, strength and peace. It is integral symbol in Maori Art, carving and tatoos....
Hope that helps..
