This is quite mesmerising if you look at it for a while. The vivid colours on black are very striking and the 'target' is perfectly centred. Love it. I'm also very interested in how you got those colours so true. I've been taking shots of a red neon sign and while the reflected light is red, the neon tube itself comes out yellow.
@golftragic -- everything I do since I switched to Lightroom less than half a year ago is based on what Taffy coaches me on, transfer knowledge from being an avid Aperture user for years, or trial and error, of which this processing mostly result from. I just looked at my LR sliders and here are the things I adjusted: maximum contrast and shadows to get the black background (it was daylight and the piece was mounted on a light colored wall), decrease saturation of yellow to avoid the whiteness of neon yellow, increase luminance of only the red (some parts of that ring weren't showing up) but no other colors because then they cast a light shadow), and that's it other than cropping into a square.
@synke -- It was GREAT to spend time with you! We've been on the phones continuously since we got back to our hotel and it's looking bad. Berlin airport strike has now been extended for a 6th day so the airlines are telling us to take a train to Frankfurt, lose a day, and then try to fly out of there :(
@synke@leonbuys83 -- Thanks for your expressions of concern! We lost half a day trying to figure out how to get to another city and fly out but in the end, the strike ended two days after all this started and we were able to get back to Chicago . . . in time to repack our suitcases for Iceland two days later!
@jyokota oh I am glad everything worked out in the end! Just saw a iceland photo of Taffy on FB so I remembered to check in here to see if you replied! I kept thinking about you! The chocolates are already gone and they were yummy! Thank you! Now I will see if there are any Iceland photos yet!
