Joshua Tree National Park, Cholla Cactus Garden

To show the field of cholla cactus. Known also as "jumping cholla" apparently these spines seem to jump to attach to you so we stayed well in the distance. Behind a fence. Taffy also took many so I'm sure she'll be posting some similar ones, too.

Closeup:
Such lovely light on the cacti against the expansive background. Fav

We were there a year or so ago and loved the wildness of the area. Stopped at this cactus garden too!

What a strong sense of place, conveying the southern portion of Joshua Tree. This is beautiful in the morning light.
