Family Christmas = Photography in the conservatory at Volunteer Park (my sister noticed the face in this orchid), followed by family movie time to see the story "On the Basis of Sex" about the amazing Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Dinner at a Chinese restaurant open less than a year and they didn't realize that Chinese restaurants are packed on Christmas Day so the lone waitress had to call a friend in to help out, and they ran out of food. Delicious food (what they had), lovely staff, and definitely worth returning to when they have more food. What we had was delicious, so we left satisfied.
Sounds an amazing day! What a nice problem to have - too many customers! Better than not enough, eh? I love this face.....it looks like a wee creature being carried in a flying machine, sitting in its basket!
What a beautiful orchid! Love the little face - well spotted. Sounds like the perfect way to spend Christmas Day. What a shame about the food running out! The poor restaurant must have been panicking as more people arrived! Hope you are keeping well Junko you have been in my thoughts.
Beautiful flower and nice story... We use to dine at a nice Chinese restaurant in Rome, too. They do prepare really delicious food, nothing comparable with the ordinary ones disseminated all over the world. For the first time this year we managed to reserve for the Chinese New Year celebration... we expect a discovery night!
I love to hear how people spend their Christmas day around the world and in different family traditions (or escapes!). Sounds like you did well. And the face was a great find.
Beautiful orchid. Sounds like a good Christmas Day except for the paucity of food. We had a delicious lunch at a good restaurant too - didn't run out of food.
