Oh what fun it is when 365 photobuddies come to town! @domenicododaro and @summerfield and I took an architectural foundation walking tour of "Chicago Treasures." We took all kinds of photos that showcased Chicago, but we decided to post an interesting scene that we all shot from different perspectives. In the lobby of the Palmer House Hotel, there was a woman sitting in front of the beautiful antique brass peacock door. Oblivious to all the photographers including her in their shots (I mean, what could we do, she was sitting right in front of it) I chose this composition where you could feel the ambience of the place and follow the line of white orchids that visually flowed into her dress.
This is my favourite of the three shots! Beautiful surroundings with the mysterious lady in white in the centre of it all. Love it! Oh the Architectural tour! Wonderful memories! So jealous! Enjoy your meet-up with other 365ers - always fun!
it's amazing that there's just actually a few feet separating us from her, but your pov, capturing the wider scene, looks like there's a great space between you and her. i like the subtle way that each detail catches the eye without distracting any of it from the whole scene. mostly, i like the way the flower arched which made it look like she was part of the orchid itself. aces!
@pamknowler -- yes, Pam, such fond memories of our times together in Chicago. Thanks for liking this -- and we never want to compete but rather to show how synergistic the different images are seen as a whole. Come back to Chicago!
Superb composition Junko, love the flow of the white elements. The subject is quite unusual with the strange mix of elegance with those sandals and the ubiquitous iPhone.
This is so well balanced. You have such an eye for composition and it really comes through in this scene. She's positioned exactly as you'd want with the floral flowing into her dress (or vice-versa). Wish I'd been there too.
So well captured!
