@domenicododaro and wife in front of the "Floor Scrapers" by Caillebotte, visiting the Art Institute while the "Paris Street, Rainy Day" by Caillebotte is away visiting another museum. I started to post a photo of one of the. Thorne miniature rooms but mine was just a photo of a room whereas Domenico made a fabulous composition that put all of us IN the room itself! Under the glass -- so fabulously expertly! Check it out: https://365project.org/domenicododaro/365/2019-08-09
Just checked out Domenico's image.....awesome!! Thanks for linking to that.
This is lovely in a different way. It is such a fascinating painting, I want to stand and look at it for a while and join them in the image. I know almost nothing about art and don't know the names you mention, but I find this painting arresting with its light quality and the movement and curls of those wood shavings.
Great capture, love how the composition, with the Dodaro's viewing the painting, makes the viewer of the photo also pay more attention to the painting.
@domenicododaro - were you guys thinking of hiring one of those men? :-D
junko, this is a classic museum shot. i like it a lot. i still haven't gone through all my photos but i'm sure i have a few like this. aces on the shot!
This is a perfect post on several layers...composition is terrific and as someone said, this is 'classic' for a museum context. It's also a perfect memory shot of what looked to be a wonderful time together!
Thanks for posting the link to the other image - it is amazing. This one of yours is also a terrific shot - I feel as though I've been standing in front of that museum piece myself. :)
