Ulysses Grant at Sunrise by jyokota

Ulysses Grant at Sunrise

Apparently twice a year, the sun comes up at the right angle to create a starburst through the center opening below the statue. The head of the Chicago Photography School sends out emails with tips like this -- and I just started taking my very first photography class there. The alarm went off at 4:30am! But at least there was no traffic at that hour!
It was well worth the early rise to catch this -- it's stunning! Gorgeous composition from one of my favorite spots in the city.
