Thank you ALL for your generous assessment of this photo. Yes, it was taken with a fisheye lens, the same that @pamknowler and @bpfoto also own, the Canon 8-15mm. It's a tricky lens to use, and quite specific so I don't use it often, but I was on a Pedway Tour and was in the same building I had photographed four times earlier this summer so I wanted a different take on it. @Taffy this is taken from the basement of the building, leaning back to look up the center along the elevator, and looking out into the street to other buildings. The Federal Building I also photographed as a circle is across the street. @mcsiegle -- the idea of a paperweight is so fun! The Chicago Art Institute has a very interesting paperweight collection. I wonder if I could sneak mine in. @annepann -- It is sad about architect Helmut Jahn's death in a bicycling accident a few months ago, but he certainly left a legacy of many buildings around the world. In doing a search of his mark on Chicago, it turns out that my doctor's office I have been going to for 27 years is in one of his buildings! But without his characteristic glass atrium that goes from basement to top floor, it's much less identifiable. Many thanks to @bpfoto who gave me great feedback (as he always does) to improve what I had initially posted.
