Walking past a dark building, I looked far inside and saw children playing. As soon as they noticed me and my camera, they raced closer to the entrance and smiled, posed, and waved.

Thank you all for your generously supportive comments. This was one of my favorite moments in Havana. It's a scene very close to where I was staying, and on the path back from the ice cream shop. I look down every single open doorway and here, I saw children playing in the distance down a very long hallway (this is cropped to probably less than 20% of the whole scene that started with the open doorway). I loved the sense of natural play late at night. And yes, @markp you are absolutely right. They love being noticed so I made sure to take those photos as well. One of the lessons of street photography was to shoot as soon as you see what intrigues you, make sure to show the people that you appreciate them and that they have been seen when they start posing, and then keep shooting because they will then return to their natural activities. Thanks again!
