Orange Dreamsicle Dessert by k1w1

Orange Dreamsicle Dessert

Oh the things we have to put ourselves through in the name of photography!! I made this dessert just to take a photo of it. I took this image with the light box but this time I was trying to create a "perfect" shadow. I moved the lights around and used a vingette lens.... didnt work :( Oh well it was fun trying and I'm sure I'll feel better if I watch a good movie and eat my dessert :)
Added the recipe for the 365 homebaked discussion....

2/3 cup cold water
1 pkg. Jell-O No Sugar Added Orange Jelly Powder... or any other flavour you like
2 cups fat-free or low fat sour cream
2 tubs (250 g) Light or fat free Cream Cheese
Whipping cream (whipped) or grated chocolate for decoration.

Beat the cream cheese and sour cream together until they are very well blended. Sprinkle the jell-o powder over the cold water. Mix well and then place in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds. Stir until dissolved. Beat into cream cheese and sour cream mixture. Spoon into dessert cups/glasses or into a small spring form pan. Allow to set in the fridge for an hour or so. Decorate with whipped cream and or chocolate and serve.
If you wish you can use an additional package of Jell-O powder if you want a firmer dessert.
Haha, I love that you made it to photograph it...eating it is just the cherry on top, or in this case the cookie on the dessert

I hope it tasted as good as it looks!! Dedication! Just a thought but if you try moving the lights a bit further away you should be able to lose the hot spot and get more detail in the stem. But I guess you hav eaten it now?? Good effort

Delicious!

This looks great as it is, but if you shoot and edit in RAW you could build up the strength of the shadow. : )

@lorraineb I thought about that after I had shot the images. I must put my camera back on the RAW setting.
@catherinep It did taste pretty yummy :)
@georgews Thanks GPix. I will make another dessert and try that. I'll have to create extra space on my desk too so I can move the lights further back.
@httpgeffed It really does seem to be working pretty well. I might have to make a larger one and take over the entire spare room :)
@monika64 It sure was pretty good... sugar free, gluten free low fat cheese cake is what it was. It's all gone now :)

@danacarruthers Thanks Dana. I think the light box is working really well. I have a couple of suggestions of things I can try to make it better and will get on to those as soon as I have some spare time to make another dessert :)
