@hannpol take a look at the themes and challenges discussion page there is lots there to keep you busy if the inspiration for a daily photo gets a bit hard ...
@skipt07 thankyou Skip, my get-pushed challenge this week is to look at his zone system, hard to get embedded into my mind enough to handle it when shooting, but am thinking about the tones when I process, its too easy to end up with tons of middle tones, I think thats what my challenger noticed in my b&w photos
Don't know much (yet) about Aaron Siskind but this is totally gorgeous - big FAV. What a wonderful old tree, such fantastic textures - superb together with the rope texture and patterns .
@kali66 - I think you succeeded to meet your challenge! When I first got into photography I was amazed when I saw Adams' work! I strove to find the secret to achieve the perfect b/w SOOC. I took pictures of a medium gray card and sent it to a photographer who followed in Adams' steps so I could learn what were my camera settings to achieve middle gray on film. I only learned within the past year that even Adams had to manipulate his images in the darkroom to some degree to achieve the fullest gray scale image. After all those years of thinking it could happen SOOC. The trick is learning to see the light and the conditions that will produce the best results. You nailed it Kali!
so many layers to this image, love the little bits of sea moss: the piece of wood could be enormous! - will definitely take look at this artist's work - sounds fitting for where i live with textures of weathered stuff!
I hope that you could select this shot for the challenge top 5. It is so beautiful with contract between the two objects, soft against hard and the curves!
