what follows is a long-winded justification for a mediocre response to my challenge from Joan of an unusual holidays shot. For me red green and gold are the colours of Christmas, in New Zealand the pohutukawa is known as the NZ christmas tree for this reason , as it blooms at this time of year. my alternative was to shoot the same colour combination of my feijoa tree. I am immortalising it becasue it was devastated by an overweight possum climbing into it and breaking off most of the branches... I was totally bummed to find it pretty much destroyed... here is to the prospect that it should recover.
Beautiful. I love this tree and have one in my garden. Unfortunately it is in shade and does not like the habitat, so no flowers. Possums should not be in NZ.
