You never know when 3 1/2 inch floppies will make a comeback, so I'm thinking I should hang onto these a while longer. Just in case. I can store them right next to my pastel green leisure suit. The fact that I still have these relics probably doesn't surprise anyone. That I could quickly lay my hands on them might be a symptom to watch, but what should be really frightening is that my first thought was if that database software could be modified to work on Windows 7. Yes, we computer types are incorrigible. What's even more disturbing is that I can think of at least a dozen of my Facebook friends that are right now thinking to themselves, "I bet I can get it to work," and a handful of others that are wondering if they can load it under Linux. Not to actually use it, mind you, just to see if they can do it. Yes, we are that far gone.
An upgrade to Topaz B&W FX was released yesterday, so I naturally downloaded it and installed the plug-in. They've added a few nice features and some nice new presets, and I took the opportunity to play with it a bit today. So post processing started with a Sepia V filter in Topaz B&W FX v2.1. I adjusted contrast, boost black, boost white, brightness, adaptive exposure, regions, and protect highlights. Color sensitivity sliders were adjusted, and then a levels adjustment was added in PSE.
