Single Scull

I went to the Blackstone Park Conservation Area at lunch today. It's a quiet section along the Seekonk River just before it ducks under the New Red Bridge. (That's the Henderson Bridge for you non-Rhode Islanders.) I liked the scene with these pilings and docked motor boats and was composing a photo with the boats as the main subject when this single scull rower entered the scene. I never saw him coming up river, and he was moving at a swift rate. Still, I managed to catch this photo of the rower framed by two of the tall pilings.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
