This looks amazingly like an Audubon illustration. Good catch! Say, could I borrow one of your sunsets for my tag challenge?? I promise to return it unharmed. Tags are sunset and fence -- you've got the best collection of sunset/sunrise pictures I know. Surely you could spare one...
@mcsiegle Thanks, Mary! As far as your request for the tag challenge, of course the answer is yes. I would be honored! But, now I have to admit my ignorance in regard to the tag challenge. How does this work? Do you need me to do anything? Anyway, thanks for the compliment!
I absolutely love your sunsets, but of course I really have to take my own pictures (darn), so my request above was just me being silly about borrowing one. But I really meant what I said about you having the best collection around. The tag challenge is fun. You go out to browse by tag and close your eyes and move your cursor around to randomly land on a tag. That's the first one. You do it again for a second one. Sometimes people get really good combinations. Sometimes almost impossible or ridiculous pairs of tags to work with. This time mine were sunset and fence -- of course "Faux Fire," which you posted yesterday would be perfect. Darn! I wish I had taken that photo. That's what made me think of you and, in a rash moment, try to borrow a shot. :-)
@mcsiegle Haha, thanks Mary, for the explanation! Silly me - I am one who is slow to catch a joke!!!! How embarrassing. But, thanks again for the HUGE compliment and for explaining to me about the tag challenge. :)
@kareenking And I'm sorry to have caused you any embarrasment. Should have said "Just kidding" or giiven you a smiley face. Shouldn't assume that everyone does the tag challenge. If I come back sometime later with a real favor to ask I'll have to preface it with "this is absolutely real" so I don't end up like the "boy who cried wolf." :-0
Actually, real question that I've been wanting to ask for a long time. How do you prounce your name? (And I suppose the appropriately wiseacre response would be, "same as in King George.") No really -- accent on first or last syllable? Long or short 'e'? Same as your typical "Karen"? It's only keeping me up every other night, but my enquiring mind seriously wants to know.
@mcsiegle No worries, Mary. :) My name is pronounced with similar emphasis on both syllables. The first syllable is pronounced the same as the word, "car." And "een" of course, rhymes with "seen." Think of "careening" down the road. It's pronounced pretty much like that: http://www.macmillandictionary.com/us/dictionary/american/careen
