I've been admiring everyone's dragon fly shots thought I'd give it a try.
I was down by the river and saw one flying around. I asked it to land on the reeds right opposite where I'd taken a seat to wait for him. He was so obliging he even turned his head toward me. The only thing he didn't do was press the shutter.
This photography stuff is hard...my finger hurts! LOL
Feel free to tell me if it isn't a dragon fly. I don't know my bugs.
Great shot! I tried to do the same thing with a butterfly today (tell him where to sit ) but although he kind of listened I wasn't too happy with my shot. Yours is amazing!
Nice shot, it is either a dragonfly or a damselfly and I am not sure which. One can fold its wings together and the other can't, but I can't remember which is which.
@mikekutz@cejaanderson@angeliekevl Thanks for your humourous comments and favs. It actually did happen like this. Like Angelieke I was chasing a butterfly around the yard and thought how silly I must look. Didn't even get one shot off. Haha
@onewing You're absolutely right Babs. It's a damselfly identified by wings together at rest. @milaniet Milanie has a beautiful shot from the 26th. Thanks Ladies
@kathiecb Thanks Kathie. I took a photo last year and said it was a dragonfly and was told it was a damselfly because of the wings. I have just found the photo now and that confirmed which way round they were. Couldn't remember and it was a bit late last night when I replied to you so didn't check it out. Amazing what we learn on here isn't it.
