I think cats have a different impression of doors and windows than we do. In the winter, my cats would often ask to go out the back door then, when it was opened they'd see the snow, shake their paw, and turn back into the house only to go and ask to be let out the other door as if expecting a different weather system out there. Maybe Duchess thinks that if she goes in the window her life will somehow be different?
