There's an art show at Oakbrook this summer called "In Bloom" featuring these fiberglass frogs and other figures, which were decorated by local artists. They're sponsored by local companies and y ou can text a vote for your favorite one. Today was also their annual fine craft exhibition. I took some pictures of the other figures that I need to upload.
The frog on the left was done in a White Sox theme, the one on the right in a Blackhawks theme and I'm not quire sure about the one facing us. (I think he's wearing flippers) That's the Oakbrook Terrace Tower in the background.
September 2015 - I dropped my Nikon L22 at the arboretum (on asphalt!) and it's definitely broken. :(
October 2014- finally reached 365 photographs and it...
Beautiful photo. When I was going through my dashboard, here on 365project, at first I thought the fountain was a bride :P It was like as if a bride is wearing a huge veil and has her back towards the camera :D
Great shot, and those frogs are a fab idea. It looks lovely there. We had something in Liverpool (I come from Birkenhead very nearby originally) called superlambananas - they were like sheep with a banana for a bottom! - which were decorated by artists and were public sculptures for about a year. They were very popular and lots of fun. Did you see my nelly in the hospital? That is along similar lines to these frogs :-D http://365project.org/whippeteer/365/2011-06-25
Excellent shot Elyse. We had people in our area do the same on paper machete horse, then they auctioned them off . One of them ended up in the zoo and has animals all over it.
