Oh man, that is very cool! I love in Michigan and we have harsh winters so I don't see things like this.

Neat place, great exposure! Like the contrasting colors of the sky, house and cacti/plants. Is this on campus?

Robert, yes! This is on campus!!

Karen, I grew up inLong Beach, California so I'm not quite used to these plants yet.

Thanks everyone for the comments. :)

I like the weird cactus in the front

Very cool. We don't have these outside in Pennsylvania.

The weird cactus in front is a cristate or crested form Saguaro. Nobody is sure why some start growing this way.

Thanks Robert!! I knew it was a Saguaro but I didn't know there was a special name for the funny shape!!
August 22nd, 2010
Do you have any theories on why it is shaped like that?

You're a Wildcat! Love this view! I looked at a couple of your pictures and followed the trail here! I went to THS years ago, and both my girls graduated from the U of A. Enjoy your time there! Great school...beautiful setting!

VERY small world...my home is in Fountain Valley CA (though we've spent the summer in Nova Scotia) So glad you dropped by this evening! Enjoy your college days; there's nothing like it!
