Frozen Tidal Basin

It was a beautiful sunny day in D.C. today. I walked to the tidal basin and found it mostly iced over. The ice was popping and crackling in the sunshine.

The Jefferson Memorial is in the distance.

What a lovely shot. I'm ashamed to say I wasn't aware of this tidal basin in DC. I need to go check it out. Do people swim there in the summer?
