Safe harbour for Matariki by kiwinanna

Safe harbour for Matariki

The interislander ferry in the safe harbour of Picton tonight - quite hard to believe that within 3 hours sailing there is so much in contrast in the stormy weather happening elsewhere in NZ. Picton was a safe harbour with calm weather for the kindergarten families lantern walk to celebrate Matariki. ( Matariki is the Maori name for the Pleiades star cluster and is celebrated when it arises in early-mid June as it represents the season to celebrate and prepare the ground for the coming year)
A grand shot. I do hope the stormy weather hasn't been too bad for you.

@steampowered we escaped the worst if it here. Other towns and cities weren't so lucky though.
