On a sad note, this is the last duckling remaining from a brood of 8. However the drakes and ducks are busy again so here's hoping there will be some more hatching soon.
On more sad notes, we had several episodes of ducks leading their family over the highway! We stopped, John put the brakes on - but one truck passed us without looking, and another from the opposite direction sped in their direction! John said sadly, one's got knocked badly! I didn't like to think about it!
@maggiemae Oh no - that is even sadder :( The danger for ducklings around here are the stoats, eels and falcons! At least we don't see it happen often - they just dwindle in numbers each day.
