Sunbathing

The shag was so happy sunbathing and drying out his wings he didn't bother to fly away. It was quite well camouflaged amongst the branches.

Fun how they do this- I wonder if they can count the minutes needed to dry the wings!

@maggiemae Hmm -not sure they can count on their toes as they re bit webbed! however they do spend a lot of time counting (preening) their feathers. This one had feathers stuck to its beak.

@maree_sanderson Shags seem to enjoy driftwood logs although I did see a spotted shag the other day perched on its nest on a rocky outcrop.
