Taonga/treasure - 'Te Hau Ora' - The Spirit of Life
This Taonga/treasure was given to me on retirement and it signifies that balance in life is important. "In wearing, we carry for ourselves, and display to others, a subliminal reminder to feed and listen to both elements of our essential being" - Spirit (Atua) and physical (Tangata). I keep it in my little flax basket (kite) when not wearing it. This taonga is special to my heart and the flash of red feather is a soft gentle reminder about keeping myself in balance.
