Back at the care centre - Sweetie loves her daily supplement which is a paste made from a soy baby formula. As she is in full time care and now out foraging for herself it gives a good diet backup for her.
She loves it so it's very easy to give to her from a syringe, but she does not enjoy having her mouth cleaned after which is important or any left on the fur sets very hard. Tip don't try to hold the back of her head when you wipe her mouth or you will encounter her teeth...
No wonder she is called sweetie -- A gorgeous capture ,, and so good that she likes and willingly takes her supplement like this ! Shame that she does not like her face washed afterwards ! fav
@fayefaye@happysnaps@tonydebont@dmcoile@hermann thanks for all the comments and encouragement you give back to me as you enjoy these shots! @cashew lol Kathy I shouldn't tell stories really should I and make anyone think she is anything less than a cute cuddly toy ;) hehehe
@salza yeah she just particularly hates her mouth being wiped. one trick is to be really careful with a few little strategies as you do her supplement so that there is really nothing on her mouth, then a quick warm washer wipe is more effective with less danger to the fingers ;)
As always another great photo. Love to see these bears and it's good there is somewhere they can be looked after. You are so lucky to be caring for them.
@shirleybankfarm thanks so much Shirley :) They are quite threatened in so many parts of Australia which is just so sad as they are unique. They are not even remotely related to bears of course, so are simply koalas, they are far more closely related to the kangaroo and wallaby :) They just kind of look bear shaped and do make some impressive noises!
How really neat to be that close to the koalas- she is a cutie! Kind of like the toddlers when you try to clean their face after eating - though they don't try to bite!
