sleepy bliss by koalagardens

sleepy bliss

At the end of his dinner in the wild wind, Cyrano braced himself and went into a deep sleep. You can see the leaves blowing horizontal so the wind it hitting his back and those hind legs are holding him steady, and of course he is comfortable on the cartilage plate in his lower back.
That's a day in the life of a koala I guess!

Thank you so much to everyone for the many comments and favs over the past few photos.
I love the positioning, great yoga pose :)

I saw Cyrano in this position at the end of the video. I think in that wind he would all four feet dug well into the tree to stop from falling

So funny, remind me of the funny positions little kids are able to sleep in.

All the strength to remain secure high in the trees in wet or windy weather and always quietly enduring all !! I am curious , do they make any sounds ? ?

I agree with everyone- what a way to sleep! Nap away, Cyrano! Then when you awaken you will find more delicious leaves!

@beryl they do make sounds
The males make a sound we call a bellow - it's amazing to hear it at night! Normally the males just rub their scent gland against a tree trunk and bellow to mark their territory.
When distressed both young males and females of all ages will scream like a woman being attacked.
Here is a video of 2 of my males having a fight - Jordan is bellowing while Legion is screaming. https://youtu.be/142OSfGwBwk
