... a few of a koalas favourite things :) Koalas really don't mind the rain in the way that humans may imagine - it was still lightly raining when I took this one. Thank you for such awesome comments and questions on my photos.
Look at those little wet straggly ears - so very cute. It's amazing how much detail you can get from the distance that you must be. The droplet is a good example.:)
@robz yes that was a fair distance so it was back to the old camera for this one :) I now lug both cameras with me on the bike as the new one doesn't have this reach, but for the right situations it's brilliant.
@jacqbb this is a great question because as climate change is causing big long droughts, even the koalas are dehydrating. when the weather is good, koalas drink no extra water. They were made to remain in the tree canopy, and so they love rain as they get to hydrate up. If a canopy is thick (think old growth forest) then even in dry weather there would be good hydration. But now with fragmented habitat, young trees in isolation, getting enough hydration is sometimes a real issue for them.
