If you want to see 2019 in review, it is now up on my official website - https://koalagardens.net.au/koala-colony/2019koalas/
There is a photo of each koala seen on the property and the story of them. Not all 36 koalas featured here last year, but you will recognise many of them.
Thank you for the continued messages of concern and support in this awful time.
Loved that link, to be so close to those koalas!! I'm taking you up on that queen bed offer as soon as I retire /get made redundant ( which ever happens first)
PS -- seeing the Koalas together in your slide show really emphasizes how unique each one is. That's not something I always think about when I see them a day apart.
A wonderful caption for this great capture! I have looked into this page a few times already. It is so incredibly well done and professionally put together. I would love to be there and see them all ;-)
@oldjosh that is such a great question - how many koalas can the property support. I can only guess. I think it could support 5 or 6 breeding females, with a couple of young females coming on. So long as there weren't more than a few adult males around, there could be a few young juvenile males, and I think the property would cope with this fine.
Aw. Fantastic. I just donated to the WWF to help the koalas during this current bush fire crisis. I made both my kids (ages 26 and 25) Koala Protectors! They found that amusing, but were delighted that we have done something small to help out. The image on the website of a koala with a burned face was just too much for me!
Thanks for the 2019 review - just lovely. My favourite image ? Nick. Question : Are koalas brown or grey or both? I just wondered if it's the light that makes them look different colours or if they are different.
Angel is fast becoming the star of the show. The processing here is wonderful. Love the pop of green vegetation against the drab colouring of the rest of the image.
@jamibann Issi - are koalas grey or brown or both? Good question as we always say koalas are grey, but there are many variations. Jordan is a very dark boy and far more dark brown than grey. Down south they are very much brown as well as bigger and longer fur.
The light can also play a part - sometimes the sun early morning and late evening has a very yellow tint and this affects images, giving the koalas a much browner hue. My answers rarely seem to be simple! :)
Effdctive selective colour.
Loved the link ...an absolute delight to see.
