Dita Von - what a girl! It poured rain for hours on end, but the moment it stopped, out come the koalas to the tree tops to feast. I love the way they grip with their feet using those thumbs to hold on. She is at the very top of a young tree and yes the branches are very thin, but gave her best koalates demonstration.
@louannwarren she's loving being in actual trees for sure! until now, these 2 have only been in small enclosures with log structures and pots of cut leaf - so this is heavenly 😊
And now in our center ring, the amazing koala acrobat Dita Von! Not only do they sleep in the most contorted positions, they have the stretchiest eating habits too! The leaves must be deliciously moist after a good rainstorm so I can see why they would come out quickly once the rain has stopped. Great shot!
