a knife and fork would be handy by koalagardens

a knife and fork would be handy

the corners of my mouth always hurt in sympathy when I watch koalas eat these huge leaves as I'm sure mine would be cut (and imagine eucalyptus oil being put on a cut there?).
but no, koalas just methodically grind away and get even the biggest leaves down, one huge leaf at a time
Lovely capture . am surprised that that thin branch is supporting its weight

A fabulous shot , as a kid I’d get colds and Sinus problems well my darling Grandmother put a teaspoon of sugar on a dessert spoon the added 3/4 drops of oil of eucalyptus which I then had to take it was so foul .

@shutterbug49 and out of the more than 700 species of eucalypts, they can only eat a handful. it is all about the particular microbiome in their caecum that allows them digest toxic eucalpt elements safely 😊

Makes me wonder what Koala's teeth are like too. I guess they would be flatter and less incisive, like most grazing animals but I've certainly never had a close look.
