milkweed munchies

While @zahrasommers was visiting we popped out to show her a monarch caterpillar and ended up walking and walking for ages to find one. Isn't that always the way? Usually I see them on most milkweeds, but it was a long march to find this one having a good snack. Thank you for the awesome comments on my photos and being with me here

@jacqbb this one must be about ready to chrysalis - it's about 2 inches long and quite the fatty!

They are certainly gorging on that plant and their bodies are fat and squidgy !! soon to develop into pupas (chrysalis ) Lovely capture aren't they beautifully coloured and marked ! - fav

@beryl yes I love the markings on their caterpillars - and this is just one single caterpillar, the mouth end is at the bottom of the image :) It does kind of look like two of them!
