Interestingly it's only the predatory birds that seem to sit up on my girls head. The honeyeaters and seedeaters tend to flit quickly from the grevillea bushes, to the edge, in the water, and back to the bushes.
I guess when you are up near the top of the heap you get to sit on heads :)

I love your bird bath and I guess the bird is looking for its next meal. There is a statue of Nelson in Whitby in England that always has a seagull sitting on his head. Makes me smile every time I pass it.
