so many fantastic and beautiful things to see through my window - this is a stunning green tree snake in the python family
What a fabulous capture!! Made me think of Jungle Book

@brigette well I came into the kitchen and he saw me, I saw him and we both froze ... then I very very slowly moved to pick up the camera and got this photo. then I moved a little and he took off 🤗

@pamknowler luckily I love snakes, particularly pythons, such an important part of the ecosystem! I do like our venomous snakes too, but not so keen to see them right at the house (and I rarely have seen a venomous snake near the house) we were both quite mesmerised with staring at each other for what seemed like minutes, but I think it was only some seconds 🤗

Hopefully he stays on the outside!! fav

Oops, glad it’s at YOUR window 😉
Beautiful though
April 27th, 2021
Oh my goodness! Isn’t it funny how different peoples lives can be & what is viewed as normal & what provokes a reaction like mine! 🤣
April 27th, 2021
Definitely to be seen through your window - though not sure I'd go out :)
April 27th, 2021
So do you have a low window or is it a long snake? I wish I had visitors like that. Lovely capture
April 27th, 2021
Glad you had glass between you and the visitor!

I would die. I’m not sure I’d leave the house if I lived in Australia; almost all the wildlife wants to kill you.

Kas
Oh my goodness! What a sight to behold through your window.
April 27th, 2021
@phil_sandford truly? why would he want to kill me? how would he? he is a harmless (to humans) green tree snake, a python so no venom. so very beautiful 🤗
April 27th, 2021
@stevejacob normal height window, these tree snakes can pretty much climb anything, and he was around 2.5 m long - I got nice video of him as he left 🤗
April 27th, 2021
@ninaganci not leaving this paradise - I love living in his backyard. I see snakes reasonably often I suppose in the warm weather. I guess when you live with them you just expect them to be anywhere and grab the camera when they do appear 🤗
April 27th, 2021
@koalagardens Yup I read that he is harmless. My comment was about how much of Australia wildlife isn’t 😜😜
April 27th, 2021
Nice shot... so much detail.
April 27th, 2021
He's quite lovely! In general, I dislike spiders far more than any snake! All snakes are beautiful...just can't "befriend" some of them!
April 27th, 2021
Beautiful capture. It is amazing to have eye contact. We have a number of snakes in our area, but I think only the rattlesnake is poisonous. It is shy so as long as we don’t stick hands and feet where we can’t see, it will do its best to stay away. The spiders are more worrisome. The brown recluse put a friend of mine in the hospital.

Wonderful capture.

April 28th, 2021
Oh my. not sure I would want to see that out of my kitchen window. :-) Great shot.
April 28th, 2021
Interesting! Glad he was outside your window!

Not what I would like to see through my kitchen window Uggggrrrr!!!

I really get your excitement at seeing this snake. We have only three types of snake here in the UK, Adder, Grass Snake and Smooth Snake. I’ve only ever seen the first two. Adders are venomous but they only bite when cornered. I’ve been known to go searching for adders, with my camera of course. I’ve seen quite a lot. I’ve rarely seen a grass snake. They’re often seen in water, swimming across areas of still water. I’m desperate for one to find it’s way into our pond. Both adders and grass snakes are very attractive. Talking about snakes makes even more excited about your encounter, it’s a bit like me seeing a rat on the bird feeder right outside the house and grabbing my camera 😂🤣. Please take more snake photos.
