Lone Walk by kph129

Lone Walk

It was a bit of a dreary day, but Auntie Gretta, Juliet, and I went for a nice long walk down the back lane from the the house to the castle in the village of Castlebellingham, Ireland.

Oh, and note the reappearance of the yellow boots - we had to leave the country to get a few more wears out of them before they are too small!

For the Get Pushed challenge, Val asked me "...to sell your vacation! If you were to make a postcard of your destination, what would you show? Could be historical, could be cultural, could be people, or attractions, or food. Show me what is special and unique about your destination; make me 'wish I was there'."
Oh that's so cute ;-)

@lyno ~ My husband has lots of family here in Ireland, so we are enjoying showing off our girls! Juliet, (and Nora too) of course, fits right in. I'm hoping that after tonight we are back on track as far as jet lag goes...

As iv'e caught you on the hop this week i thought you may want to make your challenge all about feet. Here is some dr seuss to inspire : )
How many, many feet you meet.
Slow feet
Quick feet
Trick feet
Sick feet
Up feet
Down feet
Here come clown feet.
Small feet
Big feet
Here come pig feet.
His feet
Her feet
Fuzzy fur feet
In the house, and on the street,
how many many feet you meet.
Up in the air feet
Over a chair feet
More and more feet
Twenty-four feet
Here come more and more........
.........and more feet!
Left foot.
Right foot.
Feet. Feet. Feet.
Oh, how may feet you meet!

OK, how cool is it to type, "We walked down the lane to the castle?" lol! That sells it for me right there!
In all seriousness, this is a great shot. She looks so small and I love the colors especially the bright boots! It looks so pretty there!

Hi, Kristin -- I'm your Get Pushed partner for this coming week. I've looked through your albums, you do nice work! And I'm jealous of these recent photos in Ireland...I've long wanted to go to Ireland in the winter. Ah, well. In any case, it looks like your albums are filled with images of happy scenes, peaceful scenes, contentment. So my challenge to you is to photograph something that is broken. Show the sadness, or the disharmony of something that is shattered, broken, no longer works. Good luck!

@sjoblues ~ Okay, I'm on the lookout for the grittier side of Ireland!

@emrob ~ Mandy, loved your comment on this pic! Yep, must admit I did love writing the caption to this... not too many castles down our back lane here in Calgary. History definitely has a different meaning in Ireland!
